Florian Lejeune has been fantastic since returning from injury.
His recovery was truly stunning, and his return to the first-team has been seamless. Alongside Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles, Lejeune looks like he has never been away.

However, things were different on Monday night at Molineux.
The Frenchman once again played as the left centre-back, but looked far from his usual self. From minute one, Lejeune didn’t look confident.
On the ball he looked an accident waiting to happen, nearly costing the Magpies early on only to be bailed out by Lascelles. This was surprising, as the 27-year-old often looks strong in possession much like Schar.

To make matters worse, there were a couple of instances when he hit the deck looking for a free kick, but referee Graham Scott didn’t take the bait. Not what you want to see from a big centre-half.

Lejeune didn’t impress fans with his performance
‘All over the place’ sums up his performance perfectly.
Hopefully this was just a blip. The former Eibar defender has played a lot of football since returning from his knee injury, so it may have just caught up on him. Fortunately for him, the Magpies now have a break before we face Huddersfield on February 23rd.
Lejeune will need to be back to his best for the visit of the Terriers.
