Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the performance of Andy Carroll against Arsenal in the FA Cup last night.
The Magpies were beaten 2-0 by the Gunners, who needed extra-time at the Emirates Stadium.

A stubborn Newcastle defence was eventually breached by Emile Smith Rowe who finished well in to the corner, before Kieran Tierney crossed for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to put the game to bed.
The results means Arsenal enter the fourth round and still have hope of winning the competition for a 15th time, and Newcastle’s focus now becomes the Premier League.
The outcome of the game could have been so different if Carroll had been more clinical.
The 32-year-old had a couple of glorious chances but was lacking that cutting edge at the decisive moments.

Despite him missing some chances, Carroll actually came in for quite a bit of praise from supporters on social media.
The £75,000-a-week former West Ham United man (Spotrac) was a real menace for the Magpies, and made life extremely uncomfortable for David Luiz and Pablo Mari.
His showing for the 120 minutes was definitely encouraging and could well see the return of a Wilson-Carroll partnership going forwards.
Of course the missed opportunities left a bitter taste, but some were keen to praise Carroll for his contributions:
