Newcastle fans praise Sean Longstaff after Watford draw

Newcastle United fans have praised midfielder Sean Longstaff for his performance against Watford.

The 23-year-old was making his seventh appearance of the season, and fourth Premier League start in a row.

The Magpies are still waiting for their first victory of the 2021/22 season.

They could only manage a draw yesterday, with the team spurning many chances.

Ben Foster was in a good form for the hosts, pulling off saves in the second-half from Joelinton, Miguel Almiron and Joe Willock.

It was an encouraging display from the visitors, but an ultimately frustrating one.

Newcastle really should have taken three points and the winless run brought to an end.

A definite positive to come from the game though was the performance of Longstaff in midfield.

The star scored Newcastle’s goal in the first-half – a stunning hit from the edge of the box.

He had a golden chance to score again just before the break, but his overall display was good.

Longstaff kind of lost his way a bit last season, so it is great to see him back in some good form again.

He has undoubtedly been getting better as the weeks have gone by, and this was arguably his best showing of the season.
