Newcastle United have drawn 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Magpies have increased the gap between themselves and Fulham to three points, with the Cottagers in action against Aston Villa at 4.30pm.

The Magpies took the lead through Joelinton, who converted confidently after a good ball across the box from Sean Longstaff.

But that lead wouldn’t even last a minute, with Harry Kane equalising courtesy of some very poor defending from Emil Krafth.

The England captain would pop up minutes later to give Spurs the lead with a fine finish into the far corner.

It was then for Newcastle to chase the game, but chances were few and far between for the hosts in the second-half.

But the desire was there when in recent games it has been sorely lacking.

Joe Willock was the man who popped up in the dying embers to smash his effort in off the bar, for what could potentially be a massive goal come the end of the season.

It was definitely a deserved point, and at the end of the game, quite a few Toon fans moved to praise the efforts of Matt Ritchie.

In for his first Premier League start since January 3, the Β£12 million star (Daily Mail) definitely made a case to become a regular from here.

The 32-year-old offered an attacking threat, but was also solid defensively, making two interceptions, one tackle and three clearances according to Sofascore.

He also seemed to transcend his passion to the rest of his teammates.
