Ayoze Perez is a polarising figure, especially this season.
The Spaniard dips in and out of form, often frustrating the St James’ Park crowd before wowing them with a piece of brilliance.

This season hasn’t been easy for Perez. During the first few months, he received a lot of criticism. While some of it was maybe a little over the top, it was clear to see that he wasn’t performing to the best of his ability.
But in recent weeks, the 25-year-old has been back to his best. Against Huddersfield, it looked like we had the makings of a tremendous front three with Perez alongside Salomon Rondon and Miguel Almiron.
They linked up brilliantly, but that wasn’t quite the case against Burnley. However, there is no reason to panic.

However, his work ethic was still fantastic. He pressed and harried the Burnley defence, proving why he is always going to be an important player for Rafa Benitez.

While things didn’t come off for him offensively, Perez was still his industrious best, and fans must stick with him.
We have the makings of a brilliant front three, and Ayoze is an integral part of that.
