Some Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the performance of Martin Dubravka in yesterday’s thrilling 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League.

The Magpies gained an unlikely point at Anfield, despite Jurgen Klopp’s Reds having 22 shots in the game.

Liverpool took an early lead through Mo Salah, and then cranked up the pressure in their search for a second goal.

That second goal would never come though, with Magpies stopper Martin Dubravka in inspired form.

The Slovakia international was right at the top of his game, making key saves from the likes of Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

Ultimately, that allowed Newcastle to stay in the game right until the very end, which is when super-sub Joe Willock struck.

After Callum Wilson had a goal harshly ruled out, the Magpies didn’t give in and moments later Willock positioned himself perfectly to convert Dwight Gayle’s knockdown.

The gap over Fulham is now nine points, and Newcastle are in a very healthy position.

Dubravka has certainly played his part in Newcastle’s good form of late.

Karl Darlow had an excellent run in the side, but the 32-year-old has shown why he is the club’s number one over the past few weeks,
