Some Newcastle United fans have hailed Matt Ritchie’s performance against West Ham United yesterday.
The 31-year-old again started as a left wing-back, having got the nod against Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley.

Prior to the game with Spurs, Ritchie had not started a game since January for Newcastle, and of course, there was the spat with Steve Bruce that became very public.
But he was restored to the starting XI against Spurs where he played well, and he followed that performance up with another great showing against Burnley and then the Hammers.
It was Ritchie’s corner that Lukasz Fabianski fumbled for Joelinton to score in the first-half, and in the second-half he crossed for Joe Willock to head home the winner.
The former Bournemouth man is probably likely to leave the club this summer when his contract expires.

And if that is to be the case, his exit will leave many Toon fans upset.
On social media, £45,000-a-week star Ritchie (Spotrac) again came in for massive praise for his performance against the Hammers.
Many noted the energy and desire with which he played, feeling them absolutely invaluable traits for the rest of the team:
