Newcastle United were forced to come from behind to earn a share of the spoils against Fulham at St James’ Park.
A Matt Ritchie own goal saw the Cottagers take a shock lead but a Callum Wilson penalty did at least earn the Magpies a point.
Newcastle were hoping to bounce back from their 5-2 thrashing at Leeds United in midweek but it wasn’t to be.
After the contest, supporters took to Twitter provide mixed feelings on the performance of Sean Longstaff.

The young midfielder partnered Jonjo Shelvey in Steve Bruce’s engine room.
He has played 13 games in all competitions this season but has yet to register a single goal contribution.
With that in mind, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to discuss the £25,000-a-week player.
It’s fair to say that plenty of supporters are hopeful he can recover his form and start to fulfil his undoubted potential.
Some were even of the opinion that he improved yesterday and praised his performance.
His current form is proving a hot topic among the club’s supporters, however, and it’ll be interesting to see how it develops.
Here is what supporters were saying about Longstaff after yesterday’s game.
One thundering tackle comes to mind, but dawdles on the ball way to long and loses possession. 5 is spot on

No harm to you but what are you smoking ??? Longstaff gave the ball away numerous times , getting caught in possession & too slow to move with & without the ball , unfortunately he’s gone way backways since the muted £70m Man U move 😱⚽️😱 seems to be strolling around as he likes

As for commitment that 40/60 tackle longstaff won in 1st half laid that argument to rest.

We need to be supportive of the team and want them to do well . However , slumps in form are perfectly acceptable to be pointed out . Longstaff a classic example
