Joelinton had multiple chances to get on the scoresheet, but just couldn’t find the net. His loss of possession led to the Rochdale equaliser, and in that moment a lot of fans turned on the £40 million record signing.

However, there are a lot of supporters willing him to come good, starting tonight in the replay at St James’ Park.

Joelinton played through the pain barrier against Wolves, staying on despite picking up an injury in the first half. This is something that will certainly win fans over, but he needs to add goals to his game.

Steve Bruce has hinted that he could feature if he declares himself fit, and fans are desperate to see his first competitive goal at St James’ Park.
