Newcastle beat Crystal Palace, and the away fans can’t believe it

The only thing that separated Newcastle and Crystal Palace was Miguel Almiron’s 83rd minute strike.

It was a tight affair at St James’ Park, with each side taking turns to dominate the game. In the second half it was Palace who had the better chances, with Martin Dubravka pulling off some great saves to keep his clean sheet intact.

A game of fine margins was won by a fine strike by Almiron, hammering Andy Carroll’s knock down past the despairing Vicente Guaita.

Did Newcastle deserve to win? Probably not, but they didn’t deserve to lose either. However, the Crystal Palace fans see it differently.

A lot of Palace fans think they were hard done by at St James’ Park, with one fan even dubbing the Magpies the ‘worst team’ they’ve played all season.

Regardless, Newcastle are now above Palace, spending Christmas in the top half of the Premier League.
