Mehrdad Ghodoussi delivers message to Kieran Trippier after latest Newcastle win

Newcastle United co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has hailed Kieran Trippier after the Magpies’ 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

Eddie Howe’s side extended their unbeaten run to eight games, and continued their European charge with a blistering second half performance.

It was a tough opening 45 minutes for the Magpies, but they really flexed their muscles after the half time whistle.

Once Newcastle got the first goal, it was party time inside St James’ Park. The men in black and white put on a show, with Villa barely laying a glove on the home side.

There were plenty of impressive performances, one of which came from Trippier. The £12million signing is enjoying a sensational season, and produced a wonderful display against Aston Villa.

He was a creative force down the right, and supplied a wonderful cross to setup Callum Wilson’s second goal of the afternoon.

The England international performed very well in front of Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, and it prompted a message of praise from Toon chief Ghodoussi.

Ghodoussi’s message to Trippier

After the game, Trippier took to his official Instagram account to send a message to supporters.

He wrote: “E-I-E-I-E-I-O up the Premier League we go. Brilliant again today by everyone from back to front.”

The defender’s post received replies from multiple Newcastle players, as well as a member of the hierarchy. It was a special day for Ghodoussi, who celebrated his wedding anniversary alongside Amanda Staveley.

The pair witnessed a fantastic win, and Ghodoussi gave his thoughts on Instagram.

In response to Trippier’s upload, Ghodoussi wrote: “You’re a rock.”

Trippier was the first signing made by the new owners, and he has been unbelievably good since his January move. He truly is a rock at the back, and kept the lively Leon Bailey quiet on Saturday afternoon.

We also witnessed his attacking capabilities too. He got the assist for Wilson’s header, and also created a golden chance for Miguel Almiron in the first half.

Trippier is a picture of consistency this season, and is leading the Magpies to a potential European finish. His form will almost certainly take him to the World Cup too this winter.

But Newcastle fans will only be interested in his performances in black and white. And they have been astonishingly good this season. Long may this incredible run of form continue for Trippier and his teammates.
