Newcastle United head down to Leeds on Saturday in what looks like a must-win Premier League game for Eddie Howe.
While Newcastle United have responded well on the pitch following a difficult summer, there can be little excuse heading into Saturday’s game.
Aston Villa and Liverpool are two very difficult opponents and while Leeds are certainly no pushovers, they are only just making their return to the Premier League.
As such, Newcastle will be expected to win, no matter the context. The fact Anthony Gordon is suspended is a major blow to Eddie Howe but failing to beat a newly promoted team coming off the back of a big loss would be bitterly disappointing.
Having said all that, here’s everything you need to know about where to watch what should be a huge game at Elland Road.

How to watch Leeds vs Newcastle United
TV channel: The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR. Coverage starts at 5pm BST ahead of a 5.30pm kick-off.
Live stream: Those who subscribe to Sky Go will be able to watch on their website or app.
Leeds vs Newcastle United stats
Leeds do boast a good record against Newcastle, which is rather concerning. Indeed, the Yorkshire giants have lost only one of their last six Premier League games against the Magpies.
That came when Jonjo Shelvey struck a fine free-kick at Elland Road in January 2022, which helped Newcastle on their way to ensuring Premier League survival during Howe’s first few months in charge of the club.

Howe’s side, however, have made a habit of beating newly promoted teams. They have won their last eight games against teams who have freshly come up from the Championship.
Newcastle need to continue that record to head into the first international break of the season in fine fettle.
