After beating Burnley, Newcastle will head to Leicester full of confidence.
The Magpies have finally won a game, and they’re playing the Foxes at possibly the perfect time.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are on a bad run, losing to Aston Villa on Sunday then to Napoli on Thursday night.
Eddie Howe will be keen to get another three points, but who will he pick to start the clash at the King Power?
No change at the back predicted for Newcastle
Newcastle picked up their first clean sheet of the season last time out.
We’ve looked a bit better defensively in the past two games, and Howe will hope that continues versus Leicester.
With no fresh injury concerns, it seems highly likely we’ll see the same back four that started against Burnley. That includes Jamaal Lascelles, who performed much better than he has in recent weeks.
Howe said before the game that Fabian Schar has a knock, but didn’t suggest it would rule him out of action.
Substitute role vs Leicester for Ryan Fraser
Ryan Fraser has had a disappointing couple of weeks with Newcastle.
He returned to the starting XI against Arsenal but didn’t play too well. He retained his place in the side against Norwich, but was withdrawn after 10 minutes following Ciaran Clark’s red card. Then he was unavailable against Burnley due to injury.
The Scotland international is back fit in time for the Leicester game, but seems unlikely to start.
Miguel Almiron did well last week, and deserves to keep his place in the starting XI. But Fraser is a strong option on the bench, so expect to see him in the second half.
Can Wilson score again against Leicester?
Last time we played Leicester, it was a shocking 4-2 win for the Magpies. It was probably the best performance of the Steve Bruce era.
On that night, Callum Wilson scored twice, with Joe Willock and Paul Dummett also finding the net.
The number nine has scored six times already this season, and will hope to add to his tally against the Foxes.
