Newcastle United take on Liverpool on Wednesday night in the Jose Enrique Derby.
The two sides are set to face off at Anfield, with Newcastle looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season. As for Liverpool, they will want another positive result after smashing Bournemouth 9-0 on Saturday.
It will be an interesting game for Eddie Howe’s side, who are set to be without some key players. Callum Wilson is definitely out, while Bruno Guimaraes and Allan Saint-Maximin are both doubts as well. There’s also a chance that Alexander Isak might not be eligible to make his Toon debut.
Not having key players in Bruno and Saint-Maximin will seriously damage our chances of getting a result against Liverpool. Even if they are fit, it will an incredibly tough game.

Former Toon defender Enrique will be there in attendance, but is going to be supporting the home team rather than the Magpies.
Enrique tweets ‘up the Reds’ ahead of Liverpool vs Newcastle
The Spaniard has commented on the game on Twitter, hoping that both Bruno and Saint-Maximin are fit to feature on Merseyside.
However, it appears that he only wants them to be passed fit to make it a better game, rather than boost his former side’s chances of winning.
He tweeted: “To be honest I will love to see a full Newcastle starting 11 because I believe it will be a great game to watch and I’m going to watch it at anfield but up the reds.”
Enrique has bad memories of this fixture
It’s strange to see Enrique backing Liverpool to win over Newcastle. You would think he would be fairly neutral ahead of a game between the two teams he played the most for.
The 36-year-old joined the Magpies in 2007 and made 129 appearances for the club. He then joined Liverpool in 2011, making 99 appearances in the North West.

So he actually played more for Newcastle! And one of those appearances for Liverpool came in 2012 at St James’ Park where he ended the game in goal.
Pepe Reina got sent off and Liverpool had made all their subs, meaning Enrique had to go in goal for the rest of the game. Given the way he left the club, it was absolutely hilarious for Toon fans.
Fast forward 10 years and Enrique is retired, and appears to have much more love for Liverpool compared to Newcastle. He’ll be cheering the Reds on tomorrow night, while Eddie Howe will be hoping his side remain unbeaten.
