Newcastle’s quest for a goal takes them to Championship side West Brom.

After struggling in the Premier League, the Magpies must now turn their attention to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Steve Bruce will once again pick a strong side, but how many changes will he make to the team that drew 0-0 with Burnley?

Chance for Schar and Lejeune

Federico Fernandez and Jamaal Lascelles started at the weekend, but I’d be surprised if they do on Tuesday night.

Fabian Schar and Florian Lejeune were on the bench, but deserve a chance to impress in the cup. They are high quality defenders who are unlucky to be out of the side right now.

And if they impress at the Hawthorns, they could force themselves into contention to face Southampton on Saturday.

There should be one other change in defence, with DeAndre Yedlin starting over Javi Manquillo. The Spaniard was solid on his return, but we need to keep him fresh after a long period out injured.

Bentaleb return

Jonjo Shelvey returned on Saturday and made a difference, but it would be a surprise to see him start again.

Nabil Bentaleb seems to be the most likely to take his place alongside Isaac Hayden, leaving Sean Longstaff on the bench again.

No change up top

Bruce unveiled a new look attack on Saturday, and it did help improve things.

Although they were unable to score, Newcastle certainly carried more of a threat.

And with Allan Saint-Maximin still struggling with injury, Bruce should continue with the four attacking players he selected against Burnley.

Predicted lineup to face West Brom: Darlow; Yedlin, Schar, Lejeune, Rose; Hayden, Bentaleb; Ritchie, Almiron, Joelinton; Gayle.
