Newcastle United were held to a goalless draw against Everton at Goodison Park after Anthony Gordon missed a first-half penalty.
Newcastle United had a chance to fire themselves ahead in the game at Goodison Park after Sandro Tonali was wrestled to the ground by James Tarkowski midway through the first half.
Anthony Gordon, formerly of Everton, stepped up for Newcastle United but the winger saw his penalty saved by Jordan Pickford which proved to be a big moment in the match.
Abdoulaye Doucoure headed Everton ahead beforehand but that goal was ruled out after the energetic midfielder strayed offside.
Here are the player ratings from today’s 0-0 draw in the Premier League against Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Nick Pope 7/10
Nick Pope did not have too many saves to make with the defence in front of him doing well.
Kieran Trippier 6/10
Right-back Kieran Trippier tried his best to get things going for the Magpies but he couldn’t excel.
Fabian Schar 6/10
Alongside Burn, Fabian Schar has also been in a battle with Calvert-Lewin and has also dealt with the battle very well.
Dan Burn 6/10
Despite having to deal with English striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dan Burn did ever so well and dealt with the physical nature of the forward very well.
Lewis Hall 7/10
One of the brightest for The Magpies so far and Lewis Hall consistently caused problems for the Toffees with his overlapping runs from deep.
Bruno Guimaraes 7/10
Once again, Bruno Guimaraes was one of the most promising players on the pitch and looked to be the key man in the middle of the park against a physically dominant midfielder.
Joelinton 6/10
He knew he was in a battle with Abdoulaye Doucoure but Joelinton has once again been consistently strong in the midfield. He had one wild shot which was sent high over.
Sandro Tonali 8/10
It has been a baptism of fire for Sandro Tonali but the Italian certainly looked promising for Newcastle and won the penalty in the process.
Harvey Barnes 6/10
Played some nice passes on the left-hand side but Harvey Barnes struggled to get into dangerous positions and produce moments of damage for the Toffees.
Jacob Murphy 6/10
Similar to Barnes, Jacob Murphy struggled on the right-hand side with Everton left-back Ashley Young stifling the winger.
Anthony Gordon 7/10
Gordon’s penalty against Pickford was rather tame but nevertheless the winger was Newcastle’s most dangerous player.
Substitutes
Miguel Almiron 5/10
Whilst he had moments of promise for Eddie Howe’s side, Miguel Almiron was frustrating on the right hand side and spurned some good opportunities.
Tino Livramento 7/10
He drove with the ball well and looked promising when he was on the ball. The former Southampton right-back helped push Newcastle forward in the second half.
Joe Willock 6/10
It was a rather forgettable cameo for the former Arsenal man Joe Willock as he failed to make his mark on the game.
Sean Longstaff 6/10
Sean Longstaff came on in the second half for Newcastle and looked steady in the engine room for Newcastle, it wasn’t pretty, but effective.
