The dramatic ending of our trip to Wolves took away from what was a shocking performance by DeAndre Yedlin.
The controversial equaliser stole all the headlines, with Martin Dubravka’s ability being questioned. But he was not the Newcastle player who struggled at Molineux, it was actually the American full-back.

Yedlin is a player who often gets a free ride, with his pace getting him out of sticky situations. With talk of a lack of depth on the left side of defence taking priority, the lack of quality on the other side of the pitch takes a backseat.
While the 25-year-old has had good spells in a Newcastle shirt, he was incredibly poor in our last Premier League game. The £5million signing couldn’t pick a pass and struggled to stop any crosses coming into the box.
His performance was summed up by a comical missed bicycle kick attempt.

Premier League sides are starting to target the right side of our defence, which is making things even trickier for Yedlin.
Should Yedlin be dropped?
It’s highly likely that the former Spurs man will keep his place against Huddersfield.

His style of play suits Rafa Benitez’s system, with his pace making him a great outlet down the right. But he needs a strong performance. While Javi Manquillo is hardly the most threatening backup option, the Spaniard has shown on occasions that he can do just as good a job.
If Yedlin struggles once again, then maybe Manquillo should get a chance on Tuesday night against Burnley.
