Newcastle United needed a moment of magic to beat Wolves on Sunday.
The Magpies came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Newcastle United victorious at Molineux in the Premier League for the first time since 2011.
As has been the case all season, Eddie Howe’s side were not at their best. The likes of Sean Longstaff and Joelinton struggled in the first half, but Newcastle are heading back to Tyneside with all three points.
Fabian Schar returned to the starting XI and drew the Magpies level with a great strike from distance, but he was massively helped out by a deflection.
Harvey Barnes scores incredible winner for Newcastle United against Wolves
Then Harvey Barnes grabbed the winner with another shot from outside the box, but this effort needed no help to find the back of the net.
In typical Harvey Barnes fashion, the 26-year-old shifted inside from the left flank onto his favoured right foot.

With a bit of space outside the box, you knew his shot was going in as soon as it left his boot.
Barnes’ strike curled beyond Sam Johnstone to make it 2-1 to Newcastle, as the England international continues his outstanding start to the season. The Magpies’ number 11 now has two goals and an assist to his name, and is proving to be one of Eddie Howe’s most important players.
Clinton Morrison stunned by Harvey Barnes goal
It was an incredible strike by Barnes, who stunned BBC Radio 5 Live commentator Clinton Morrison with his winning goal.
“Now that is magnificent,” he said.
“Harvey Barnes has that X Factor. He’s on his right foot and the finish is magnificent from 20 yards out and he just bends it into that top corner.
“Fantastic goal from a bright young player. Brilliant the way he picked it up. What a strike.”
This is why Newcastle signed Barnes
Barnes joined Newcastle United last summer from Leicester City for £39million. He was brought in to replace Allan Saint-Maximin, who was a real fan favourite at St James’ Park.
Barnes is a very different player. He is not quite as flash, but he is much more decisive in the final third.
And that is why he was brought to the club by Eddie Howe. Barnes is a difference maker in the box, and has provided so many pivotal goal contributions since joining the club.
He is a lethal finisher, and proved that yet again on Sunday with an outrageous strike.
At a time when Eddie Howe’s signings have been questioned by Paul Mitchell, Barnes proves once again why he has been a wonderful addition to this Newcastle United squad.
