Newcastle United made it five wins in a row after seeing off a strong challenge from Brentford this afternoon and Bruno Guimaraes was quick to celebrate on his Instagram.

Now Newcastle are past the middle of a run which sees them on the road for three consecutive games with a trip to a resurgent Aston Villa to come next week.

Right now though, it’s about celebrating passing a very difficult test at the G-Tech Community Stadium this afternoon and that’s exactly what Newcastle’s number 39 is doing.

After yet another solid display for the Magpies, Newcastle’s £40million Brazilian maestro took to Instagram to once again reiterate his love for the club: “3 games in a week and massive 9 points !! This is my team. Comeee on the boys 🖤🤍3️⃣9️⃣”

So just in case there’s any doubt there, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and anyone else glancing our way – Bruno Guimaraes loves this club, he’s going nowhere. You may continue to admire for a far and cry into your cocktails that he’s not yours. That much we will allow.

In all seriousness, it was another masterclass from Bruno today in what was a very difficult game. Brentford were up for it today and didn’t give us much to work with. Although we had the lion’s share of possession that counts for nothing when you play Brentford as that’s the way they like it.

While it would be hard to pick out any player for Newcastle who stood out, Bruno is always one who’s going to pull the higher marks when the player ratings come out. In this case he’s up there alongside Callum Wilson and Anthony Gordon who’s half-time introductions changed the complexion of the game and Nick Pope who made a really important stop from an Ivan Toney header, not to forget his penalty save in the first half.

It can never be understated just how important Bruno is to the way Newcastle play and it’s no wonder that fans are always anxious when a story comes out about a club being interested in him, especially given our history of selling our top players. Fortunately, though, those days are well and truly behind us. We are no longer a selling club, and even if we were, I doubt Bruno would want to leave anyway, we’re under his skin now. He belongs to us.
