Bruno Guimaraes makes St James’ Park vow after Newcastle United beat Arsenal

It was an emotional night on Tyneside, as the players and fans fed off each other.

Bruno Guimaraes thrived in the environment, with the 27-year-old playing incredibly well on Wednesday night.

He could not hide his delight after the final whistle, and he has since taken to Instagram to deliver a message to supporters.

Bruno wrote on Instagram: “I loved this! When St. James’ Park is like this, it’s very difficult to beat us. Thank you for your support, NUFC fans. We’re going to Wembley! Thank you, God, for everything.”

The message received a reply from Toon legend Alan Shearer, who commented: “Well done man. Brilliant.”

Bruno Guimaraes led by example as Newcastle reach Carabao Cup final

You could tell it was an emotional night for Bruno. After picking up a yellow card for a foul on Leandro Trossard, there were fears of him getting a second as he fought for every ball.

He continued to play with passion and fire, while he orchestrated the Newcastle United fans by geeing them up at every opportunity.

Bruno put in the type of performance that was required from a captain. As Alan Shearer says, he was brilliant. The number 39 led by example, while he executed Eddie Howe’s gameplan perfectly despite a shift in system.

The midfielder pressed high and broke up possession, while he tried to get Newcastle going on the counterattack whenever he could. It was an outstanding performance, which could be said of every player in black and white.

Getting to the final means everything to the supporters, and it means everything to Bruno. He will now play his second Newcastle United game at Wembley, but this time he will be captain.
