Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has shared his instant reaction to defender Dan Burn scoring his first goal for the club.
Having arrived on Tyneside in the January window this time last year, the 30-year-old opened the scoring for the Toon in their Carabao Cup quarter-final against Leicester City.

Showing composure in the final third, the left-back slotted home with a controlled finish into the far corner – subsequently celebrating his first goal for his childhood club.
Taking to Twitter, Shearer shared his reaction to the goal, lauding Burn for opening the scoring.
Burn scores his first goal for Newcastle
Having initially arrived at St James’ Park as a centre-back, Burn has maintained his place in Eddie Howe’s starting XI at left-back.
Thus far, the former Brighton defender has played every single Premier League game for the Toon this season.
Adding a huge presence to the side’s back-line, Newcastle now have the best defensive record in the entire top-flight, having conceded just 11 times this term.

Scoring the all-important goal to get the Magpies firing against Leicester, the Tyneside outfit will now have to prepare for the League Cup semi-final.
This will have been an unbelievable moment for the local lad, putting his side one step closer to securing silverware.
Shearer was evidently happy, as were the fans in St James’ Park.
