25-year-old Newcastle star did not look happy after beating Southampton

Newcastle United celebrated another huge win on Sunday, but one player was not smiling after the 3-1 victory over Southampton.

Eddie Howe‘s side had to come from behind to beat Southampton, with Callum Wilson inspiring a second half comeback for Newcastle.

He scored a brace, while a Theo Walcott own goal ensured that the Magpies put another three points on the board. European football is now confirmed, and the Champions League continues to loom larger than ever.

After the game, the players did their customary lap of honour. Anthony Gordon was involved, after being replaced at half time following an up and down 45 minutes on his first St James’ Park start.

But new footage released from the club shows that one of Gordon’s teammates was not too happy immediately after the game.

The club have released their behind the scenes video from Sunday’s victory over Southampton to their official YouTube channel. It shows alternative angles of the game, as well as close ups of the players before and after.

The video ends with the players heading back into the dressing room, celebrating a huge three points. There are smiles and celebrations aplenty, and the video ends with a big grin from Joelinton.

However, his fellow Brazilian was less enthusiastic. As Bruno heads into the dressing room, he is notably subdued. The 25-year-old is normally incredibly passionate in these videos after victory, but this was different.

There was no smile on his face, nor did he make a noise of celebration. He was clearly disappointed with his performance, taking to social media after the game to express his displeasure.

It was not the best 90 minutes of Bruno’s career, but he was far from a disaster. He was not as impactful as he usually is, but that felt more down to Southampton handling him very well. Romeo Lavia did a real job on him, and it led to the Saints scoring the opening goal of the game in the first half.

Bruno’s reaction after the game just sums up the incredibly high standards he has. Even in victory, he is not happy. He clearly has an elite mentality, and that is going to serve him and Newcastle well in the coming years.
