Newcastle ball boy absolutely wows St James' Park with ridiculous first touch

So much about Sunday’s win over Wolves was brilliant to see for Newcastle fans.

Alexander Isak put in perhaps his best performance yet and scored the opener as Eddie Howe’s side breathed new life into their Champions League challenge.

The Swede, starting over Callum Wilson, impressed on only his second Premier League start since the World Cup and nodded in Kieran Trippier’s free-kick to give Newcastle the lead.

While Trippier would slip to allow the away side a leveler, Miguel Almiron – another player to have been benched – scored a deflected goal to give Howe’s team a much-needed win.

Isak caused a number of problems in the first-half and Bruno Guimaraes also hit the bar as the home side battered their visitors before the break.

Still, as wonderful as all that was to see it was a moment from a ball boy that really captured the attention.

Newcastle ball boy’s first touch delights crowd

After Wolves had cleared a Trippier cross from a free-kick, the ball was booted out of touch just inside the away side’s half.

While the Sky cameras cut away, there was an audible delight from the crowd as the ball boy brought the falling ball down with a deft first touch.

Sky pundit Jamie Carragher was wowed on the replay, saying: “What we’ve got to analyse at half-time is, was his touch better or [Joao] Moutinho’s? Well done young man.”

Sean Longstaff was a ball boy in his youth. Perhaps the club are onto another winner here…
