The skipper has been subject of interest from various clubs over the past year, which is testament to how impressive he’s been.
Lascelles joined Newcastle in 2014, immediately returning to Nottingham Forest on loan.
The Chronicle have reported that both London clubs are keeping an eye on the centre-back, and could possibly move for Lascelles in January.
Both clubs have a need for a central defender, so it’s clear why they’d be interested in the 24-year-old. Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld faces an uncertain future in North London, while Chelsea have ageing defenders in Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
What do Tottenham fans make of Lascelles rumours?
While Lascelles has impressed in the Premier League, Tottenham fans don’t see too be too happy about rumours linking them with a move.
Not a huge Lascelles fan personally from what I’ve seen

He’s basically the main reason why Newcastle stayed up. Hes young English and he’s been their captain for years. But I agree Ake is better.

It’s fair to say the Tottenham fans aren’t buzzing about the prospect of signing Lascelles.
While some see him as a decent player, the supporters don’t seem to see him as a possible stater for Spurs.
Lascelles might not be the glamour signing that Tottenham crave, but he could certainly do well under Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Newcastle fans will be praying that he remains on Tyneside, where he’s held to a much higher standard.
