First it was Ryan Fraser, now it’s David Brooks.
Newcastle have been linked with a summer move for another Bournemouth player, with the Daily Star reporting that the Magpies have Brooks on their radar.

The youngster has enjoyed a brilliant debut season in the Premier League, having left Sheffield United last summer for Bournemouth. The 21-year-old immediately settled into life in the top flight, proving to be a brilliant signing.
His performances have led to links with the Premier League’s elite, with Tottenham reportedly interested in bringing him to North London. Manchester United have also been linked.
So surely Brooks becoming a Newcastle player is impossible.

Brooks deal seems like a non-starter
In the report linking Spurs with a move, the Express claimed that Mauricio Pochettino’s side were readying a £50million pound move.
That would make him their most expensive player ever, and it’s a fee that Newcastle just can’t compete with.
Spending £50million on one player sounds like something that will never happen at Newcastle under Mike Ashley. To be fair, not many clubs have spent that much on a single player.

While it’s exciting to see us linked with players like Brooks who is clearly a class above what we have got, he seems like an unrealistic target.
If we are to improve as a club, we need a player like Brooks. But sadly the real deal is surely out of our price range.
