Newcastle head to Molineux tonight knowing they must keep Raul Jimenez quiet if they’re to get a result.

The Mexican, on loan from Benfica, has nine goals and five assists so far this season. In fact, he has scored three in his last two games.

However, it’s his overall activity in front of goal that shows the Magpies must keep him at bay. The forward has had 75 shots at goal – almost double the strike effort by Newcastle’s Salomon Rondon (43).

Jimenez’s lethal right foot

With six goals from the 27-year-old’s right boot, Newcastle’s defence will know all about his strengths. Captain Jamaal Lascelles is likely to start and will have his hands full on the night.

However, it’s important for the Magpies to pick up at least a point following results near the bottom of the table at the weekend.

Rafael Benitez will be fully aware of this and with his defensive masterclasses already shown on a number of occasions this season, he’ll have been certain to have picked out Jimenez as one of his opponents’ main threat.

It’s clear that Nuno Santo has a talented squad at his disposal. In the reverse fixture, Jimenez came off the bench to cause United problems.

Alongside the Mexican, there are many other threats for United to be wary of, including Diogo Jota. The Portuguese star has been passed fit and will be another looking to cause chaos for the Magpies once again.
